The themes of migration and exile have accompanied modern Arabic literature since its beginnings in the 19th century. In the context of globalisation, Arabic literature today can only be understood in its international and cultural interconnectedness. The seminar will discuss texts by Egyptian, Lebanese, Syrian and Iraqi authors who deal with the topic in different ways. close
