SoSe 21: Central Kurdish: Sorani II
Khanna Usoyan
Comments
Kurdish belongs to the north-western Iranian language, to the Indo-European language family. Kurdish has been written in a variety of alphabets, including Armenian, Arabic, Cyrillic, Roman, and Syriac. There is no standard classification for the divisions of Kurdish dialects. The majority of scholars agree that there are three main dialect groups. Kurmanji, which belongs to northern Kurdish, is spoken by Kurds in Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Transcaucasia, the Ukraine, Russia, and in Iran. In Iran the majority of Kurds, nevertheless, speak central Kurdish, called Sorani.
The language class aims to help students to develop their Sorani knowledge and to learn and deepen the text grammar. The students interested in the course should register themselves in the Blackboard system in order to be able to get the teaching material and weekly exercises. The students will be supplied with learning material for the class. close
