Comments
During this seminar we will discuss the politics, theory and practices related to solidarity economy. During the first part we will compare different theoretical frameworks conceived around the idea of social and solidarity economy and we will analyze the consistency of these approaches. In a second step, we will use examples to discuss the building of the solidarity economy and we will address the question of what prospects are emerging for it in Latin America. Examples of solidarity economy include consumer and producer cooperatives, participatory budgeting, fair trade movements, alternative currencies, among other related initiatives. close
