SoSe 21: The Byzantine Heritage of Turkey

Comments

Byzantine Heritage of Turkey In order to understand a nation better, one should study their cultural and historical heritage consisting of some visible and invisible archaeological, natural, or artistic aspects, which are traced back in their antiquity and persisted till the recent past. Likewise, current Turkey has undergone many transformations and changes in history; from its primitive natives to the Byzantine Empire and then Ottoman Empire and finally to the current Turkey. For understanding Turkey's current existence, we need to investigate and study its Byzantium era as an extensive part of its being. For that purpose, we need to answer some questions: Who were the primitive inhabitants of Turkey? When did Byzantium appear in Turkey? What is exactly the Byzantium Empire? When/how did current Turkey begin its transformation and what has this concept gone through?
