In this seminar, we use a sociological perspective to analyze the complex issue of racism and (social) media. A topic that is relevant in the North America as well as worldwide. -----
In detail, we will look at concepts, framework conditions, challenges, strategies and situation-specific interactions. For this purpose, initially there will be a study of relevant theories of racism. Furthermore, it follows an analysis of specific structures of racism. The next step is to analyze the role of the media, especially social media. In addition, appropriate examples, case studies and analyzes are discussed in the seminar. Also, experts will give valuable insights into how specific challenges can be met. -----
A comprehensive, critical discussion – including an outlook on future developments – forms the conclusion of this seminar. close
