SoSe 22: Race and Class in US Society

In this seminar, we will interrogate the ways in which intersections of race and class have shaped and continue to shape US society. We will look at a variety of ways in which the relations between race and class have been conceptualized - e.g., Critical Whiteness, Afro-pessimism, (Post-)Marxism and Intersectionality - in order to examine how these relations have structured and continue to structure central areas of US socio-economic and political life. -----
We will read and discuss highly sensitive – and often disturbing – materials. I will try my utmost to make this class a safe space for everyone. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
