SoSe 22: Future Learning and Teaching

Kommentar
Higher education has several roles in society. To successfully fulfill these roles of professional, personal and social development in the current era of digital transformation, higher education might need to change as a result of changing knowledge and competence requirements, of new developments in didactics and learning theory and as digital technologies are creating new learning forms and environments.
Especially in the university context, we often tend to pay little attention to the explicit learning formats. And even if the professor has incorporated the latest didactic findings in setting up a university course, students are often left alone on how to gain a deeper knowledge outside the classroom. Not only the most pressing Covid-19 crisis has shed light on the importance of a more reflective use of didactic tools and various teaching formats. Ongoing technological change, in particular the most recent developments in machine learning and mobile robotics increasingly challenge traditional skills in future labor markets. But how can we better help to foster innovative and creative resilient citizens that can successfully navigate an increasingly complex world?
In this course, we want to analyze the most recent developments in learning theory and didactics within the framework of an ever more digitized higher education and society in general.
