SoSe 22: Digital violence in the political arena: concepts, dynamics and regulations
Marcela Suarez Estrada
Kommentar
Digital violence in the political arena is a global problem that is undermining the political rights of candidates, politicians, activists and journalists, thus posing new challenges to democracy. Course participants will consider this problem from a theoretical point of view and acquire the methodological tools to analyze the dynamics of this type of violence, as well as current attempts to govern it. Throughout the course we will discuss the inequalities of gender and race of this type of violence and how is used to exclude women from the political arena. Lastly, we will focus on the ways in which digital violence is manifested through the analysis of empirical cases in Latin America and globally. Schließen
