Wolfram Keller
Kommentar
Geoffrey Chaucer is one of the most well-known Middle English authors. The aim of this seminar is to provide students with an overview of both, Chaucer’s times and his works. Following a few introductory sessions concerned with fourteenth-century history and culture, we shall read selections from The Canterbury Tales, including the General Prologue, the Knight’s Tale, the Miller’s Tale, the Reeve’s Tale. In-class discussions shall be mainly focused on the primary text, occasionally supplemented by short articles. Further information about the syllabus, readings, and assessment shall be available on Blackboard at the beginning of the semester.
