The golden age of young adult fiction: Teaching young adult texts
Young adult novels are popular among adolescents and adults alike as famous examples of the genre such as Angie Thomas’ The Hate U Give (2017) illustrate. The four main objectives of this course are to (1) acquaint students with the genre of young adult literature; (2) explore selected examples of young adult texts; (3) look at adaptations of young adult texts; (4) discuss ways of deadling with young adult texts in the classroom.
