Seminar
SoSe 22: Stadt, Land, Fluss, Meer. Florenz und Venedig in der Frühen Neuzeit
Luc Wodzicki
Comments
Florence, the city at the river, and Venice, the city on the sea, were, in fact, more than cities: They were Republics. This tension had a significant impact on their inhabitants' political, economic, and cultural lives. This seminar aims to explore the nature of early modern city-republics by considering their constitution, relations, environment, and intercultural connections. close
