SoSe 22: Reformation und Bauernkrieg

Comments
The influence of the Reformation on the Peasants' Wars of 1525 is one of the most controversial aspects of Peasants' War research. In this seminar, we will approach this debate by analysing the attitudes of the reformers Martin Luther and Thomas Müntzer to the peasant wars on the basis of relevant sources; on the other hand, we will ask - again close to the sources - about the influence of the Reformation on the "manifesto" of the insurgents, the 12 Articles.
In addition, the basic techniques of scientific work will be repeated in this seminar. A willingness to read sources and a general willingness to discuss are required.
