SoSe 22: Preliminary course for field trip Switzerland and Southern Baden-Württemberg

This course is meant to prepare the participants for a 10 days field excursion which will be organised prospectively for the beginning of August. We will visit various sites, archaeological monuments, and excavations as well as museums in Baden-Württemberg and Switzerland.
At the beginning of the term several lectures will introduce into the periods of Upper Palaeolithic, Meso- and Neolithic, Bronze and Iron Age, each with regional reference to the area between rivers Neckar and Rhine as well as Lake Constance and Lake Geneva. The participants are supposed to prepare presentations on selected sites, monuments and regional archaeological issues covering the prehistoric epochs of the study area. Based on the presentations a digital excursion guide will be produced which will be available to the participants at the field excursion.
