SoSe 22: Transferences / Shifts: on the Ambiguity of Scientific Conceptualizations
Rolf-Dieter Hepp
Comments
Already Émile Durkheim points out that terms like class, democracy, socialism, etc. differ from each other in different authors. Through these different occupations, scientific discourses and arguments are aligned. Foucault points out that in the sociology of Castel, Bourdieu, and Boltanski, the methodological premises of the epistemology of Bachelard and Canguilhem are incorporated and are relevant to an adequate understanding. Bourdieu points out that in translations into another language, the "yards of meaning" (Bedeutungshöfe Wittgenstein) of theoretical conceptualizations must be taken into account, or rather, many disputes are based on the fact that the theoretical background is not reflected upon.
These different occupations will be examined and traced on the basis of the relationship between German and French sociology in order to be able to unfold the scope of conceptualizations within a theoretical field. close
