SoSe 22: HS-Negotiating Gender: Crossgendered verse
Andreas Mahler
Comments
When a male author imagines a poem with a female speaker or a female author a poem with a male speaker, this is called crossgendered verse. The seminar, which is offered as a research seminar along with the tutorial on “Poetry and gender”, will address both the aesthetics and the politics of crossgendered verse throughout the centuries by exploring its poetics and the social implications of crossgendering as a textual strategy. Corpus suggestions from the participants are highly welcome. A first starting point might be The Routledge Anthology of Cross-Gendered Verse, eds. Alan Michael Parker and Mark Willhardt (London: Routledge, 1996). close
