SoSe 22: Worldwide food movements

Elisabeth Meyer-Renschhausen

Comments

Since about twenty years we observe a growing food movement. What are their goals, who are the actors, do they have success and why do they fail? We will inform us about growing Urban Agriculture initiatives from the “underdeveloped countries” to food councils and organisations like Slow Food in the Northern Hemisphere. We will also discuss landless movements in South America as well as 10.000 gardens for Africa to zero-waste-movements in the North. How are they connected with the protests for climate change of the youth? In this seminar students will undertake a small research by themselves by investigating international far-flung literature. The students should be able to read German as well. A one-day field trip by bicycle will be included. close
