Qualifikationsziele: Die Studentinnen und Studenten besitzen die Fähigkeit, geowissenschaftliche Fragestellungen eigenständig mittels Geographischen Informationssystemen computer-gestützt zu bearbeiten und Ergebnisse zu präsentieren. Inhalte: Anhand ausgewählter Anwendungsbeispiele werden grundlegende Konzepte von Geographischen Informationssystemen und der Geoinformationsverarbeitung vermittelt: Struktur und Anwendungen von Geoinformationssystemen, Grundlegende Konzepte wie Datenmodelle, Erfassung von Geodaten, Methoden und Probleme der Abbildung des Georaumes, Georeferenzierung, Extraktion und Verarbeitung räumlichen Daten, Methoden der räumlichen und geostatistischen Analyse und Interpolationsverfahren, Erstellung und Analyse digitaler Geländemodelle, Visualisierung von Geodaten, einschließlich Karten. Die Studentinnen und Studenten lernen zudem deren praktische computergestützte Umsetzung.
