Seminar
SoSe 22: Language and Space
Antje Wilton
Comments
In this seminar, we will investigate the relationship between language and space from a variety of different viewpoints and disciplines. The focus will be on the role of space for the establishment and maintenance of social interaction as a spatially anchored, cooperative and embodied activity. We will base our exploration on selected original studies to get an overview over the different approaches and theoretical frameworks that conceptualise and analyse the relationship between space and language use. Students will be guided on how to work on each text together, sharing their comments, questions and criticism with their peers. The course will be offered in a blended format, with 1/3 of sessions online and 2/3 of sessions on campus. close
