Recently, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) has emerged as a valuable tool in many fields. It is therefore natural to extend the investigations to the broad field of cybersecurity and privacy which is still in its infancy. In the seminar several recent new developments in this field will be discussed in detail: Potential topics are AI-assissted anomaly detection in networks, deepfake and fakenews detection, differential privacy protection of synthetic data, federated learning, post-quantum coding etc. Also the broad field of blockchains (use cases, attacks, information-theoretic analysis) will be explored, e.g. applications in federated learning etc.. The relation to on-going research initiatives e.g. in IoT, 6G and so on will be outlined.
