This class has a double purpose: It will a) offer an introduction into concepts and methods of the History of Sexuality in general, and b) tries to specify these ideas with regard to North American Colonial History. The class aims at underscoring the relevance of the History of Sexuality for understanding power relations between different social groups in early North America.
Requirements: active participation, assigned readings, term paper
