WiSe 13/14: Introduction to U.S. Foreign Policy
Thomas Greven
Comments
While there is an ongoing debate about US hegemonic decline, and while the US might no longer be the “indispensible nation,” most observers agree that the US remains the most important player in international relations.
At the same time, US foreign policy is probably more independent from external constraints than that of any other country and its study thus requires a careful consideration of domestic American politics. We will discuss various theoretical approaches to the study of foreign policy and explore different aspects of US foreign policy empirically.
