        The aim of the seminar is to a) introduce the students to key concepts and relevant theoretical debates in the field of nationalism b) familiarise the students with variety of nationalist projects and self-determination movements by way of case studies and c) examine how different theoretical assumptions about identity and nationalism translate into concrete policy efforts in practice. The seminar will thus explore both the theoretical approaches to nationalism and examine its various manifestations in practice, familiarising students with the key debates, challenges and/or prospects for successful management of ethnic diversity.        close
