Course Description:
This course deals with recent developments in Contract Law within the EU. Subjects include legislation and leading cases on essential questions such as conclusion of contract, contractual liability and anti-discrimination in EU member states. The discussion on a future European Contract Law that has been put into focus by the publication of a Common Frame of Reference (CFR) and the proposal of a Common European Sales Law (CESL) shall be dealt with as well.Recommendations for essential reading will be given at the first lecture. Course takes place on some Mondays from 18.15 until 19.45 hrs beginning Oct 14 in the main faculty building in Van't-Hoff-Str. 8 in lecture hall no. III, plus block seminar on Oct 18/19 from 10.15 am until 18.00 hrs.
The course earns 6 ECTS credits and will end with a written exam. The course is accompanied by a PowerPoint-Presentation which will afterwards be available on blackboard. This course is recommended for THEMIS students.
