WiSe 14/15: Anthropological Perspectives: Gender and Space in Muslim Societies
Omar Kasmani
Kommentar
This seminar offers an introduction to anthropological studies that deal with questions of gender and space - and especially its various articulations and crossings - concentrating on Muslim societies. Alongside a focus on ethnographies, participants will engage with texts that offer key theoretical concepts and reflect on current methodological approaches. The learning method draws on in-class presentations therefore participants are required to read, analyse, and discuss the assigned texts. Film and other media may also be used for class discussions.
