Seminar
WiSe 14/15: Seminar on Representation Theory of Associative Algebras
Alejandra Rincón Hidalgo
Information for students
Prerequisites: Good knowledge of linear algebra. Basic knowledge of module theory is an advantage.
Comments
The aim of the seminar is to study representation theory of associative algebras and quivers. Quivers are just directed graphs where the vertices are interpreted as vector spaces and the arrows as linear maps, but they are of great importance in the study of non commutative algebra and algebraic geometry. We analyze some problems of linear algebra with these tools. We will give a complete proof of
Gabriel's theorem that characterizes quivers of finite representation type.
