Seminar
WiSe 14/15: SI:Bilingual Education / CLIL
Anna Bitmann
Comments
The seminar deals with Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) as a dual-focused educational approach in which a foreign or second language is used for the learning and teaching of both content and language. Over the course of the semester we will pay attention to theories concerning different school subjects (History, Mathematics, Politics, etc.) as well as advantages and disadvantages of this particular didactical approach. In addition, we will take a look at current research and findings concerned with bilingual teaching and learning. Enrolled students will be required to visit a school with an implemented bilingual program and observe at least one lesson. Due to organizational reasons these visits will/may take place on other days than the scheduled class.
Course requirements:
- presentation or simulation
