The seminar will give a high-level overview of current trends and developments of the transfer operator approach to the analysis of complex dynamical systems. The main topics will be:

1. transfer operator based coarse graining schemes
2. reliable estimation of the relaxation processes from spectral information
3. relation to available algebraic multigrid and/or multilevel approaches and application to large-scale systems.
