WiSe 15/16: Moderne Politische Ökonomie: Analytische Überlegungen und Empirische Anwendungen
Michael-Detlef Bolle
Kommentar
Modern Political Economy is concerned with the interaction between political and economic systems. As in any other science, a variety of analytical (theoretical as well as empirical) methods do exist and can be distinguished. The basic feature of this seminar is to explain economic policies and economic performance by focusing on the interaction between preferences, processes of political decision-making and institutions. The seminar will develop an understanding of methodological foundations and simple models. Furthermore, it will engage in the discussion of timely substantial subjects and findings. The course will use significant empirical examples of international relations in a Putnam-setting with special focus on the European Union. The acquired knowledge of models and approaches may thus be employed to analyze and explain further problems in the field of political science that students may encounter in the course of their studies. Please contact Prof. Bolle before the start of the course if needed. Syllabus and course outline available on JMC website: http://jmc-berlin.org Schließen
