Wie wird Tanz oder allgemeiner: wie werden Bewegungen zum Gegenstand wissenschaftlichen Schreibens? Welche Schreib- und Kompositionspraktiken lassen sich im Zwischen von künstlerischer Praxis und Theorie ausmachen? Diese Übung findet in Kooperation mit Student*innen des MA SODA-Programms des Hochschulübergreifenden Zentrums Tanz (HZT) statt. Neben der Lektüre von Texten sollen gemeinsam Schreib- und Kompositionsverfahren praktisch erkundet werden. Aufgrund der Internationalität der Seminargruppe wird die Übung teilweise auf Englisch stattfinden. In this seminar we seek to explore practices of writing in and about movement and compositional strategies in contemporary performance and dance contexts, but also in relation to students’ own performance and/or writing practice. The seminar involves reading and discussion of performances, texts, and an exhibition at the Hamburger Bahnhof, task-oriented research, collective explorations of writing and composing processes, as well as developing an individual approach to writing practices. It caters to students with an interest in the intersections between practice and theory who seek to strengthen their ability to theoretically and practically reflect on and employ methodologies of writing movement as creative and scholarly practice. This seminar is a cooperation between the MA SODA program at HZT and the MA Dance Studies program at FU Berlin. It will take place at the HZT and at the Institute for Theatre Studies at FU.
