Ziel der Vorlesung ist es zum einen, wesentliche Entwicklungen der Filmtheorie seit der Jahrtausendwende nachzuzeichnen, die sich als Reaktion auf die Digitalisierung des Kinos ergeben haben. Der Wandel auf der Ebene grundlegender Materialität und Technologie hat die Definition des Films in Frage gestellt und zu einem Nachdenken über Kontinuität und Diskontinuität der Mediengeschichte und über die Identität des Films unter ‚post-medialen‘ Bedingungen geführt. Diese Überlegungen sollen im Verlaufe der Vorlesung vorgestellt und kritisch evaluiert werden. Zum anderen geht es unter dem Begriff der Postkinematografie um eine Beschreibung des Gegenwartskinos, die sich nicht allein am Phänomen der Digitalisierung orientiert, sich aber an einer Neubestimmung des Films und seiner Ästhetik im digitalen Zeitalter versucht. close
