Scientific research normally is integrated in research projects. Thus projects – as service contracts or major reserach projects – structure the everyday work of professional practice. At this computer scientists have to meet various requirements: Project planning, realization of projects within teams, financing, time planning etc.
Through the collaboration of academic researchers and practitioners out of different professional origins, research projects are the place where the problem solving potential for joint objectives comes into play in practice.
The main emphasis of this seminar lies on the mediation of basics for planning and developing research projects and the testing of the contents using examples of real research tenders. A special focus is put on projects from the university context (e.g. EU or German Ministry for Education and Research research programmes). Additionally the system of project financing and research funding will be presented.
Students will concern themselves with the planning, financing and implementation of research projects beginning with the initial idea, ending with the final results. Within the scope of the seminar a particular research idea shall be developed and realized.
