Comments
Sociolinguistics is the study of language as one aspect of human social behaviour. In this seminar, you will study the correlations between linguistic variation and social variables like ethnicity, social class, sex/gender, geography, age, socio-political orientation, etc. Particular emphasis will be placed on the empirical study of these correlations and on their socio-political significance.
