Comments
About this seminar: In this course, we use a sociological perspective to analyze the complex issue of news media structures in the USA. In detail we will look at framework conditions, concepts, strategies und systemic interactions. --- For this purpose, initially there will be a study of relevant culture studies, media/communication theories, e.g. Meyrowitz, Postman or McLuhan, journalism theories and theories of trust. Furthermore, it follows an analysis of specific media phenomena, e.g. radio, newspapers or social web. In addition, appropriate practical examples, case studies and analyzes are discussed in the course. --- A comprehensive, critical examination – including an outlook on future developments – forms the conclusion of this seminar. --- Assignments:
