WiSe 17/18: Introduction to quantitative Geology with Matlab
Lena Noack
Information for students
      StudO 2017 Modul MSc-GG017/StudO 2012 MSc Modul GG021: "Spezielle Geochemische Themen" (S (2 SWS) + Ü 2 (SWS) = 6 LP )
  Additional information / Pre-requisites
This course will give an introduction to working with Matlab by using different application examples from all areas of geological sciences. The students will learn to autonomously solve quantitative problems with Matlab. They will learn basic numerical knowledge (e.g. numerical integration) and strategies to address new problems.
Especially Master students, that want to attend the course on thermodynamics and kinetics of geological processes, are advised to take this introduction course to Matlab programming (either before or in parallel to the thermodynamics course).
Attention: The course will consist of two parts - a block course in the beginning of October (9-13.10.2017) as well as a regular lecture during the semester (Friday 14:00-15:30).
