Hanan Badr
Comments
What do Egyptian and Russian media systems have in common? Are journalism practices different in different countries? What factors shape the global media coverage? This seminar tries to answer these questions and more by connecting theoretical concepts from communication studies, political sciences and sociology to explain the different media systems in the world. Through case studies throughout the world, students will develop their theoretical knowledge and methodological comparative skills. The course goes beyond mere descriptions to critical reflections on the state of the media in the world. Students are required to prepare a presentation and a short seminar paper through the term. The seminar targets B.A. students enrolled at the Institute for Media and Communication studies. Seminar language is in English. close
