Kommentar
This course will give students an introduction to American economic history from the late 19th century until today. By analyzing case studies, students will gain a better understanding of various economic theories. Examples include the determinants of American economic growth, the Gold Standard, the Great Depression and the New Deal, the shift from Keynesian demand management to Reagonomics, and the development of economic inequality. Throughout the course we will aim to apply economic reasoning to historical questions using empirical approaches and discussing their limitations. The course will be taught in English.
