The second part of the module (Hauptseminar) will be offered in summer term 2019.
Comments
This course will cover the economic history of the United States, from colonial times to World War II. Topics to be covered will include the colonial economy, the economics of the American Revolution, the transportation revolution, the industrial revolution, the role of agriculture, the economics of the pre and post-Civil War American South, the rise of big business, the Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression, and the New Deal. The course will be conducted in English, and classes will consist of lectures, class discussions, and student presentations. Management will be organized through Blackboard. Please register early, as there are only limited places available. Attendance at the first session is required. close
