This advanced course invites students to the interdisciplinary understanding of culture and politics in contemporary South and North Koreas. It is a team teaching course with scholars from a diverse range of fields including cultural anthropology, medical anthropology, art history, gender studies, and urban sociology. The sixteen weeks are divided into five main themes such as Korean self and sense, Arts in North and South Korea, Femininity and Masculinity, Family Planning and New Village Movements, and Sociality of the Space. The lectures will be in English and Korean. close
