WiSe 18/19: Politics of Transitions to Renewable Energy in international comparison
Conrad Kunze
Comments
Community Energy projects realize a transition to renewable energy on a mostly local scale. An effort is often made to bring energy infrastructure back into public ownership, for example in the Berliner Energietisch referendum. Collective forms of ownership and control as well as ecological and social improvements are often linked to community energy (or energy democracy). We will use a comparative approach to case studies around the globe to learn about the social and political context of community energy and new forms of public ownership. We will also visit some examples in Berlin. close
