WiSe 18/19: Modern Political Economics: Analytics and Empirics
Michael-Detlef Bolle
Comments
Modern Political Economy is concerned with the interaction between political and economic systems. As in any other science, a variety of analytical (theoretical as well as empirical) theories and methods do exist and and will be dealt with at the seminar concentrating on the interaction between individual preferences, processes of political decision-making and institutions. The seminar will focus on an understanding of the political and economic performance of societies on the grounds of sound methodological foundations and complex models of Political Economics. Furthermore, the seminar will engage in the discussion of timely substantial subjects and findings. The acquired knowledge of models and approaches can be employed to analyze and to explain further problems in the field of political science/economics that students may encounter in the course of their studies. Language will be English, students are given the opportunity to present their theses (B.A., M.A., Dissertation, etc.) according to their interest in Political Econmics. We also offer a platform for discussion of work in progress as preparation for international conferences. Please contact Prof. Bolle before the start of the course.
