WiSe 19/20: Anthropology of Global Health
Nasima Selim
Kommentar
This seminar introduces undergraduate students to the anthropological approaches to global health. The growing field of global health in Germany and the rest of the world will be in focus around two axes, the critical anthropology of global health and the applied, public anthropology in global health. The seminar consists of five thematic clusters, 1) General discussion on anthropology and global health; 2) Afflicted bodies, social suffering, and the pursuit of wellbeing; 3) Political and moral economies of health and healing; 4) Affected and biosocial ecologies in a more-than-human world; and 5) Writing about/for Global Health. Students should come to class prepared and having read the assigned texts. In addition, students will conduct short field visit assignments and walking seminars. Schließen
