WiSe 19/20: Naturwissenschaftliche Methoden in der Klassischen Archäologie

Kommentar

Mit einem Schwerpunkt auf dem griechisch-römischen Mittelmeerraum, ist es Ziel der Veranstaltung, jüngste archäometrische Forschungen vorzustellen und deren Ergebnisse im historisch-archäologischen Kontext zu interpretieren. Der Fokus wird u.a. auf folgende Methoden gesetzt: Mineralogisch-petrographische und chemische Keramikanalysen; Analysen der organischen Residuen; Isotopenanalysen. Am Beispiel ausgewählter Fallstudien werden einerseits einige Techniken und Methoden vorgestellt, andererseits werden sozioökonomische Aspekte zu Produktion, Distribution und Konsum, Handel und Netzwerke, Diät und Mobilität diskutiert.
