WiSe 19/20: Monetary and Fiscal Policies
Wolfgang Strehl
Kommentar
This course introduces students to the analysis of monetary and fiscal policy in an open economy such as the United States. Upon completion of the course, students will have a thorough grasp of the driving forces behind the most prominent macroeconomic variables (real GDP, employment, inflation, interest rates, etc.), understand key macroeconomic accounting identities, and have acquired a simple theoretical toolkit to analyze how monetary and fiscal policy decisions affect macroeconomic outcomes (and have affected the U.S. macroeconomy in the past). The course’s focus is on the short-run behavior of the macroeconomy (business cycle fluctuations). Schließen
