This module is open to students that are planning an internship abroad and to those who are returning from an internship in another country. Together with other students you will have the opportunity to discuss your expectations and experiences and to discover more about the four phases of being abroad:
1) What should you consider when preparing for an internship abroad?
2) How do you deal with your first impressions and experiences in a foreign cultural context ("culture shock")?
3) Which models and strategies can you use to adapt successful and improve your cultural competence?
4) What should you watch for when you return home?
We will explore these questions with practical planning tools (for the preparation phase) as well as with interactive and experience-related activities. Students will have the opportunity to share with others.
The modern business world is full of intercultural experiences and the international business language is English. Research has proven that we learn languages best, when we are engaged in using them creatively to talk about topics that are personally relevant. Therefore, this workshop will be held in English.
