      WiSe 19/20: American Exceptionalism
Winfried Fluck
Comments
The belief in an American exceptionalism has been a key element in the formation of a national identity throughout American history. It has had an unexpected comeback in the last decades. This course will focus on the main historical documents of American exceptionalism, starting with Puritanism and leading up to the present, and discuss them in the light of current revisionist reinterpretations of American history. close
