WiSe 19/20: The Age of Revolution: Historical Sources of the American Early Republic
Sebastian Jobs
Comments
The early years of the American Republic and the times of revolution remain, until this day, a nearly mythical point of reference for historians, politicians and activists - not only in the United States but worldwide. In this class, we will revisit classic documents of this period (e.g. Declaration of Independence or the Constitution) and we will critically reflect upon their basic principals established and the impact they had and continue to have. In that fashion, this class provides an introduction to both basic techniques of historical craftspersonship and to historical themes of the Early Republic.
