WiSe 19/20: MÜ-Interfacing Linguistics+Literature: Principles of Classical Narratology
Andreas Mahler
Comments
The tutorial, which is conveived as part of the Master seminar on ‘Narration and Visuality’, will look into the categories and critical terms used in what is now called ‘classical’ narratology (as opposed to ‘cognitive’ narratology) and, in doing so, will try to gauge their descriptive value, but also their shortcomings and reductions, in close readings applying them to narrative texts. Theoreticians discussed will include names like Genette, Hamon and Barthes. close
