WiSe 19/20: Resampling techniques and their application
Frank Konietschke
Comments
Resampling- methods are widely known as pretty robust and accurate procedures. We will explore different resampling methods in detail, e.g. drawing with replacement, permutations, wild bootstrap, etc. and find answers to the questions “When do Bootstrap methods work?” and “How do Bootstrap methods work?” Apart from these investigations, we will tackle efficient implementation of these methods using R. In this course, t-test type statistics, linear models, generalized linear models and selected ranking methods will be resampled using different technologies. This course is aspired for students to learn about modern statistical tools that were designed to make accurate conclusions when sample sizes are rather small.
