Dante Alighieri’s (1265-1321) Divina Commedia is considered one of the masterpieces of European literature. The poem of high aesthetic quality narrates a journey through the Christian realms of the dead referring to Greek philosophy (especially Aristotle), Roman and medieval literary traditions, medieval philosophy and theology, contemporary science and politics, Italian and European history. We will discuss the third part of the poem: the Paradiso. close
