Comments
This seminar offers a thematic and chronological introduction to the fundamentals of Iran's pre-Islamic history from antiquity to the Sasanian era. Through the treatment of exemplary topics from different epochs, taking into account recent research, the students will also become familiar with questions of methodology, research practices and techniques of scholarly work.
The book by Wiesehöfer (see below) is compulsory reading, and knowledge of it is assumed in the seminar.
